Mapping regional investment suitability

Suitability modelling provides a practical way to focus attention where investment is most likely to succeed.

Suitability modelling identifies where industries are most likely to succeed by assessing the combination of conditions each sector requires, including resources, infrastructure, skills, and market access.

Our approach applies this lens across regions, analysing how these factors interact to reveal relative strengths and constraints. This enables consistent comparison and highlights where conditions are most supportive of industrial development.

The outcome is a clear, practical view of where new industrial activity is viable, supporting targeted investment decisions and scalable project development.

Applied example: the forestry sector in Argentina’s Mesopotamia

We applied this approach to the forest industry across the provinces of Misiones, Corrientes, and Entre Ríos, assessing suitability for wood panel production and for cellulose, paper, and cardboard manufacturing.

While the region has strong forestry resources, fibre alone does not ensure competitiveness. Performance depends on how resource access aligns with water, energy, logistics, and the wider operating environment—distinguishing broad potential from investment-ready locations.

This analysis narrowed extensive areas into three priority zones, each suited to different but complementary forestry sub-industries, and providing a clear basis for targeted investment and industrial planning.

How we support clients

We translate regional analysis into clear investment priorities, identifying where different industries are best placed to develop and where constraints are manageable. This supports more focused decisions and stronger alignment between regional strengths and project requirements.
